Yes. Our formulas are produced in GMP-certified facilities using the same manufacturing standards required for pharmaceutical products — well beyond the minimum required for food supplements. Several of our formulas have passed IMPD (Investigational Medicinal Product Dossier) assessment, the standard used to authorise a product's use in clinical trials.
Yes. Every batch of our omega-3 fish oils is independently tested by IFOS (the International Fish Oil Standards program) for purity (heavy metals, PCBs, dioxins), freshness (oxidation level) and potency (EPA & DHA against label claims). Our oils consistently achieve the IFOS 5-Star rating, the highest grade awarded, and batch certificates of analysis are publicly available.
We formulate to avoid common allergens — including dairy, gluten, lactose, soy and yeast — wherever possible, and our products are always GMO-free with no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives. If a specific product contains a trace ingredient (for example, a small amount of soy-derived vitamin E used as a natural antioxidant), it's listed clearly on that product's label and page.
We source our omega-3 fish oil from wild, short-lived deep-sea anchovies rather than farmed fish or larger species like salmon or tuna, which minimises pollutant build-up. The oil is then molecularly distilled to remove dioxins, methyl mercury and PCBs, and concentrated to deliver a therapeutic dose of EPA and DHA without a large capsule burden.
Bioavailability refers to how much of a nutrient your body can actually absorb and use, rather than simply excrete. We choose ingredient forms and, where useful, delivery technologies such as VESIsorb® or sustained-release formats specifically to improve absorption — so the active dose on the label is closer to what your body actually receives.
Each is formulated around the nutrient needs of that life stage. The Men's formula is enhanced with lycopene and methylated B6/B12 for everyday male health; the Women's formula includes gentle iron to help meet higher iron needs; and the Women's 50+ formula adjusts for menopause and post-menopause, with added calcium, magnesium and antioxidants and no added iron, since iron needs typically drop after menopause.
Methylated B vitamins (like methylfolate and methylcobalamin) are already in the active form your body uses, rather than the form your liver has to convert first. This matters most for people with reduced ability to methylate folate efficiently, but it generally means better absorption and utilisation for everyone.
Yes, this is a common and safe combination — a multivitamin, an omega-3, and a targeted mineral like magnesium each cover different nutritional bases and don't duplicate each other. RESTORE is a pure-EPA (no DHA) formula aimed at inflammation, joint and mental clarity support at a therapeutic dose. VEGEPA combines EPA with evening primrose oil (GLA) for general all-round wellbeing. OMEGAFLEX combines omega-3 with glucosamine for joint and bone support. If you'd prefer a plant-based option, our Vegan Algae Oil Omega-3 & Astaxanthin provides EPA and DHA from algae rather than fish.
This varies by individual — age, weight, baseline omega-3 levels and the condition being supported all play a role. As a general guide, mood-related benefits are often reported soonest, while benefits for heart, brain and cellular health can take several months. We recommend taking omega-3 supplements consistently for at least three months, with six months or more associated with greater improvement in clinical studies.
Omega-3 fatty acids can mildly reduce blood 'stickiness', which is generally beneficial for cardiovascular health, and EPA is well studied alongside statins (the combination has been shown to lower cholesterol more effectively than either alone). If you're taking a prescription blood thinner such as warfarin or heparin, please check with your GP before starting a concentrated fish oil supplement.
EPA and DHA compete for the same binding sites and enzymes in the body, so combining large amounts of both can partly cancel out their individual benefits. For inflammatory conditions specifically, a concentrated dose of pure EPA (as in RESTORE) is used in the research to maximise its anti-inflammatory action without DHA competing for the same pathways.
Omega-3 fish oil is generally considered safe during pregnancy, but we recommend checking with your doctor first, particularly if you have a history of pregnancy complications such as pre-eclampsia, since high-dose EPA has a mild blood-thinning effect. Our fish oils are purified to remove heavy metals and contaminants. Note that glucosamine (found in OMEGAFLEX) is not recommended during pregnancy.
Yes — people with diabetes have a reduced capacity to produce long-chain omega-3s naturally and carry a higher cardiovascular risk, so omega-3 supplementation is often particularly beneficial. VEGEPA (combining EPA and GLA) is a commonly recommended option for cardiovascular, brain and eye health support.
Yes — our Vegan Algae Oil Omega-3 & Astaxanthin provides EPA and DHA sourced directly from algae (the same original source fish get their omega-3 from), so it's a genuine plant-based alternative rather than a substitute oil. We also stock a Vegan Vitamin D3 sourced from algae extract rather than lanolin.
Many of our products are vegetarian or vegan and carry the relevant Vegetarian Society or Vegan Approved mark on the label — this is listed on each product page. Where a product isn't suitable (for example, due to gelatine softgels or animal-derived glucosamine), that's also stated clearly on the listing.
Orders are dispatched within two working days of purchase. Domestic NZ orders are sent by courier and typically arrive in 1–3 working days, with free shipping over $150 NZD ($5 NZD under that). International orders (including Australia) are sent via NZ Courier Post and typically take 5–7 working days, with free shipping over $150 NZD ($10 NZD under that). Please note customs charges on international orders are the customer's responsibility.
