Balanced omega-3 & omega-6
Vegepa balances omega-3 with omega-6 at an optimal ratio of 4:1 by combining wild fish oil with cold-pressed evening primrose oil. As Omega 3 EPA has a higher turnover rate in the body compared to omega 3 DHA, we have formulated this product to provide pure EPA from fish oil. Combined with evening primrose oil, a rich source of omega 6 GLA, and also a source of omega-6 LA, Vegepa provides a complete omega-3 and omega 6 balance.

Frequently Asked Questions
Each serving of 2 softgels contains 560mg of EPA plus 18mg GLA, so it is often best to split the dose if you are taking 2 or more softgels daily (unless recommended otherwise by your healthcare practitioner) to maximise absorption, because the body has a limited capacity to absorb fats at any one time. We also recommend taking the softgels with food (preferably containing a source of fat, e.g. oily fish, olives, avocado, nuts, or seeds) as this will stimulate the body’s natural production of bile and digestive enzymes which will further aid the absorption of the fish oil.
We have added vitamin E to the formulation to protect the oil from oxidation within the softgel so splitting the softgel will expose the oil to oxidation and is therefore only recommended if you are going to consume it straightaway (although this may not taste very nice).Similarly, please do not store the softgels anywhere warm (room temperature is generallyfine), so if you are lucky enough to live in a very warm climate, it might be worth considering refrigeration at the hottest times of year.
Raising EPA levels takes time. Whilst our customers notice the benefits of Vegepa at varying stages, we suggest it may take 3 months or more before you notice benefits, and this very much depends on individual variability and environmental factors. Results from testing omega-3 fatty acid blood levels in our clients reveals that it very much depends on your starting point – if your AA to EPA ratio is very high, for example, it can take longer to reduce that ratio, and although cellular incorporation is happening, it may take longer to feel the benefits. Similarly, an individual weighing over 90kg is likely to take longer to restore omega-3 biomarkers than a 60kg adult taking the same dose.
Our fish oil is responsibly sourced from wild deep-sea fish including anchovies, sardines & mackerel, which are less prone to pollutant build-up than larger longer-lived species.
The oil is sourced from fish body oil as it is purer than fish liver oil, and is purified using molecular distillation, ensuring it is free from methylmercury, PCBs and dioxins. Our oils are checked to ensure purity, active ingredients, nutritional value and safety.
Evening primrose oil is a rich source of omega-6 GLA, which works in harmony with omega-3 EPA to support inflammatory balance, essential for general health and wellbeing.
EPA and DHA are the two main omega-3s found in fish oil, but they behave differently in the body. EPA has a higher turnover rate and works to lower inflammation, meaning it's used up and needs replenishing more often, which is why Vegepa is formulated with pure EPA rather than a standard EPA/DHA blend — to specifically target the body's ongoing EPA requirements.
Vegepa softgels are free from gluten, wheat, dairy, soya, eggs, shellfish, tree nuts, and peanuts. The capsules are made with fish gelatine (not bovine), making them suitable for halal and kosher diets. As with any fish-derived product, it's not suitable for vegans or those with fish/seafood allergies
If you're pregnant or breastfeeding, or currently taking any medication, it's recommended you speak with a doctor or healthcare practitioner before starting Vegepa, as with any food supplement. Vegepa is not intended as a substitute for a balanced diet.
Each box contains 60 softgels. At the standard adult dose of 2 capsules daily, that's a 1-month supply. Adults and children over 12 can take 2–4 softgels daily, while children aged 4–12 should take 1 softgel daily, so the box will last longer at the lower dose.
Yes — children aged 4 to 12 years can take 1 softgel daily, while those 12 and over can follow the adult dose of 2–4 softgels daily. As always, it's best to check with a healthcare practitioner if you're unsure about giving supplements to a child.
